Serena Valley

Serena Valley focuses her practice on complex family law matters, representing individuals and families in high-conflict and high-stakes cases throughout New Mexico. Her work is characterized by careful judgment, thorough preparation, and steady advocacy in matters involving significant legal, financial, and personal complexity.

Serena’s practice includes complex divorce, parental relocation, custody and timesharing disputes, child support, kinship guardianship, and matters involving domestic violence. She also has experience working on cases arising under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, which present some of the most challenging procedural and jurisdictional issues in family law.

During law school, Serena clerked at the highly regarded Walther Bennett Mayo Honeycutt family law firm, where she gained early exposure to sophisticated and high-conflict family law litigation. Following her graduation, she was invited to join the firm as an associate attorney, continuing to work closely with Amber Macias-Mayo and building a strong foundation in complex divorce and custody matters.

When Amber Macias-Mayo later established Macias-Mayo Law, Serena joined her in the new firm and played an integral role in its growth and development. Over the next three years as an associate attorney, Serena assumed increasing responsibility for complex cases and firm leadership, earning the trust of clients and colleagues alike.
